    bought on release
    good looking cork
    decanted briefly

served blind to friends. from a friend who has been drinking wine for some time and has lots of experience with burgundy said blindly " cote du nuits 2014. that is how young this came off.
o6 can be a tricky vintage and this shows how well a great wine maker can make a great wine in a vintage like this at a village level.
i wish that i had more of these.
robe - showing classic burgundy depth with no bricking with flashes of ruby
nose - slightly restrained showing more red fruits and hints at that burgundy nose. still quite primary
palate - very good length with still some fine grain tannins and acidity that is keeping it hoping. the fruit spectrum is more in line with the nose which would be red fruits with a tad of crunch. really nice with quail and and roasted vegetables .
if you have any of these in good condition , dont hesitate to hold them for a few more years or open, check and perhaps give a short decant before enjoying

  • Weekly tasting group #208; Old world 2006; an overview. (@ VD): Transparent red. In the bouquet cherries, raspberries and some green herbs. On the palate red berries like raspberries and strawberries, also some cherries, herbs, earth and licorice. A touch of sweetness, but also firm, fairly mild acidity.

  • Quite cool, lightly spicy nose. Red berries, some herbs and some earthiness. Evident oak and already some woodland floor. Sweet cherries and exotic spices appear after a while. Hints of sandalwood. Nice to sniff.
Medium body with some elegance to it. Lightly oaky. Quite tender taste with red berries, oak, spice and nice acidity. Tasty and elegant, but a little thin. Some bitterness in the finish detracts as well.
