2 bottles from Mag: First bottle wasn't as good as the 2nd so I will focus on the better bottle. Deep Vosne aromatics and a tantalizing finish. Got better the longer the wine was open and based on the better bottle this still has plenty of life yet. I would note that to me this bottle seemed to be peaking. Great showing!

There are rumours that the grapes came from drc. The wine was very structured and in some way young for what it is. The nose had red fruits, wood and some flowers. The palate was very fine but it just did not have the depth and finesse of a great rsv. But its still a lovely red burg.

Faiveley vs. Jadot: 1993 vs.1996 (Hong Kong Country Club): Pre-dinner blind tasting.....all wines had been decanted for several hours. Bright, transparent but almost Bordeaux in depth of colour. Nose is lovely and accessible...fruit driven and the only wine tonight to show some obvious oak. Palate is warming, rounded, welcoming, great agidic and tannic balance, open, heady but lacks a bit of complexity for me. My #5 of 11: Group #3.

only light bricking, nose was beautifully wandering alternately through fruit, a bit to oak, and some funk, wine was rich and full-bodied with cherry / berry fruit and bordered on opulent, interestingly it was more fb'd than the '89 Conn Valley Estate Cab we had alongside

dinner with the Maddings, wine was med bodied with mostly secondary palate, some smoke at first but that faded, spice and forest floor with just a hint of dark fruit lingering in the background, felt like this bottle would have been better 5-7 years ago, cork was wet and soft when opened
