Tuscany tasting: Brownish, see-through colour. Nose of salted meats, hay, sulphur, spicy dried fruits at the background. Noticeable accidity, integrated tannins, some pickle juice and olives. Opens up nicely with air, give it time!
liked this a lot, at or past peak, fruit lurking but mostly secondary at this point -- but didn't taste over the hill, nice drink and great with our dinner of steak and salmon, was bested by Leclerc Combe aux Moines '99… my instinct is this would be viewed very positively by Bordeaux fans, being a burg man i think i prefer well aged barolo to these older brunello's
Opened for 2 hours and then decanted. Perfectly balanced wine. Rich, delicious and long. Aging perfectly with just a hint of port on the finish. Big fruit on attack, delightful mid-palate and long silky finish. Be sad when this is gone
Decanted briefly and served. Wow, what a beauty. Huge nose dominated by dark fruit and thrilling aromas of dried herbs. Truly special. Great on the palate with excellent balance and expansive flavors. Complex and captivating. Great finish. This is a special bottle of wine that is worth seeking out.
