Really good showing for this, best bottle I've had out of 3 (and my last). Looks young for a 16 year old white, but the acid and sweetness are pulling together and creating something special in the bottle that will last a long time yet. Candied citrus and tinned pineapple on the nose, a bit of wet hay and waxiness too. Lovely clean palate, some slight oilyness but it is cut by strong, linear acidity. Generous length. Great price.

Golden-yellow colour. Bright, zesty, spicy aromatics, very honeyed and developed. Hints of brown caramelised sugar, elderflower and toast. Off-dry slippery palate with good complexity and decent length. Minor oxidation perhaps, as it had some cider-ish/pineapple syrup characters to it, that may be the style, but in any case I'd expect some bottle variation under cork. Hadn't had this one before, so I didn't know it was an off-dry style. It's quite an unctuous wine, so it's really best shared. Glad I shared this with a small group too, it went down well.

Vouvray and chenin blanc tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Lemon, honey, beginnings of toast and butter, touches of farmyard and damp stone. In the mouth though the wine is tart there are honey as well as lemon flavours. quite waxy textured but it’s a touch too short for me. Hmm

Drinking nicely, afte two flawed bottles, lovely mouth feel, modest acidity and smooth on the palate.
