Medium ruby and translucent. Dark red and black fruit with spice and earthy notes. Palate is structured, with good fruit intensity, ripe, soft tannins hanging around and good acidity providing balance and very good mouthfeel. I think this is just entering prime time.

Healthy magenta with slight bricking. Perfumed and complex nose shows aromatic asian spices, fennel, dark red cherries and dark soy sauce. Palate shows dense dark soy glazed red berries, hint of caramelized brown sauce, good acidity, fully integrated tannins and a long mineral tinged finish. So much for a less heralded vintage. This is another 2000 that has aged very well.

Testing out a new venue; 10/11/2022-10/12/2022 (Market Brasserie at the O2 Intercontinental): Compared to the 99 - which will be a wine for the grandchildren - this was surprisingly ready to drink. A certain delicacy and poise, lighter on its feet than expected. A hint of cherry coke but all in balance - jolly nice stuff.

200 Burgundy Grand Crus from vintage 2000, 4-day blind tasting (Singapore): Ripe nose, lovely, bakery, ginger bread notes. The palate is really dense with some drying tannins that give a few points deduction.
