on nose: red meat and forest. Should be over the hill according to Cellartracker. But it is not. wet forest and still some acidity. not Worth saving, but OK to drink now

Medium deep red colour with some signs of maturation. Nose: Dark red fruits; plums, dried cherries, prunes and the slightest hint of licorice. The nose took some 20-30 minutes to fully develop. Taste & palate: Slightly sweet attack with mature red cherry fruit, good acidity and marked tannins. Medium to rich body. Quite long aftertaste but towards the end of the taste curve the tannins become a bit too pronounced. Alternatively one could see it as a typical sweet & bitter cherry fruit ending.... Anyway, a very good quality to price ratio (originally bought for NOK 80/EUR 10). Given the slight sweetness and the tannins this will work with a number of meat dishes with either some fat or a touch of sweetness. It will probably keep well and continue to develop for another 2-4 years.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #045: Amarone (@ The factory by JdB): Ripe red berries and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate juicy and ripe cherries, not that much sweetness and mild acidity and tannin.
