This is in good shape - currant, capsicum, herbal nose with a touch of char. Palate is cherry, mint, something smoky, almost seems like there was a toasty barrel that's all but disappeared into the wine leaving only a bitter ash element behind. Still fruited but the tannin may outlast that in another decade, 12.8% alc and firmly classic.

Extracted with a Coravin. Fire red core, orange rim, fading to an almost clear meniscus. Attractively deep bouquet of cherries, forest pine, cedar, spice box, wintergreen, pencil lead, and rosemary. This is Old School and well resolved, showing a medium body, good length and depth, with flavors to match, and a spicy finish. It got better with each passing moment in the glass. Excellent.
