2hours of air in bottle already. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with garnet rim. Legs. Sediments at end of bottle. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of rose & tar, dark red cherries, red plums, dark red licorice, hints of soy and earth, and chalky stones minerality with more air. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), structured but nicely integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, soy, dark red licorice, dark red cherries, red plums, bit of boysenberry, and a vein of minerality. Long finish. Very good quality. Lots of traditionally-made Barolo feels. Prime time to drink now. Showing well. From the Cerretta cru in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba.

Tasted from MAG...decanted and tasted over 2 hours. The nose was nicely aromatic with high toned floral, spice and red fruit. The palate was surprisingly smooth and supple, having developed well in the cellar. The primary flavors were black cherry and earth, with good finishing acidity and perfectly integrated tannins. This was shining with the Bolognese sauce and was better than I expected from the vintage. The mag could have held up for another 5 years or so, 750's are probably ready to go now and for another couple years.

From a magnum. Fully matured barolo; cranberry-walnut tart, prominent acid in the finish. Good to go with an hour of decant.
