Along with Reynella, I enjoyed this single vineyard Syrah more than any other Aussie I have tried. The wine looks Inky, opaque and deeply colored. The legs are Slow. It smells like Blackberry, and Fig. It tastes like Blackberry, Forest floor, Smokey Bacon, Black Pepper, and Meaty. The body is Full. The wine has Fleshy texture. The wine finishes Long. I especially like the balance and elegance of this well-made wine.

Dark inky colour, ever so slight a tinge of brown from a wee bit of age, but in a good way. Nose of assertive jammy fruits. On the palate, more jammy fruit but without any connotation of sweetness when I say jammy. I also sense some mild chocolate and even Starbuck's mocha, so yes there is an earthy quality here. South Australia does Shiraz like Mendoza, Argentina does Malbec; that is, very well. Very good to excellent.

This followed a superb Two Hands Brave Faces and it held its own. Not in the same league but it did not disappoint either. This had a more tannic structure and could have used another 1-2 years in bottle. Good Aussie fruit.

Classic Aussie Shiraz. Very well-balanced with nice fruit and tannins. Decent QPR.
