Small Tasting & Dinner with Friends: Our last standard bottle which unfortunately had not held up. Notes of tea leaf and earth with just the slightest, softest hint of cherry underneath. We revisited it later on in hope that time may have helped but there was just nothing there.

Bouchard Aux Reignots 1996: Pnp: This must be at peak now. Maybe some tannins but overall a very smooth and pretty wine. Felt young the first hour or so, but gradually showed its age. 93-94 pts.
Bouchard Le Corton 1995: Pnp: Maybe slightly tannic, but also a wine that is peaking now. Felt a bit younger than the Aux Reignots. 93-94 pts.
Both wines pefectly stored since release.

Lots of earthy notes. Mushroom, a bit of forest floor, rimmed with some light red fruits, still some cherry showing. The acid is still present although lightening, the tannins are soft at this point. The wine has nuance if it lacks a little complexity. Overall though shows well. Very Good. I doubt this will improve anymore and it seems like it may begin to degrade here soon. I would drink up.

Lots of earth, mint, dried cherry, smoke and licorice. Smooth and elegant with ample structure and a nice streak of acidity on the finish. Great balance and depth. Weighty with a dry finish. Drink now.

Bouchard Pere et Fils with Gilles de Larouziere (NoMad Cupola): Still noticeably tannic. Dark cherry fruit. A shorter finish.
