Very slight rust. Crystaline candied red and black fruit aromas. Earth and mushroom then cola and cherry. Mellow entry. Lavender and moss mix with the cherry coke. Strawberry rhubarb pie. Nice density on the solid finish.

Much prettier than previous version of this wine, which is often much inferior to its first-born older brother Rhys. Delicate notes of faded cherries, rhubarb, and strawberries. Clean finish.

The cork just rips to shreds on this bottle, I seem to remember this issue with older Alesias. Strained the wine into glass, the color is ruby salmon and the nose is awesome with raspberries, garden roses, and slate. The palate is supple with minerally red fruit, oak spices, and an herbal stemmy finish. With plenty of life left this wine bodes very well for the ageability of wines in the Rhys' stable. Thanks for setting up the virtual offline Frank.

There is some volatility on the back end of this that was a little distracting. But there was a very nice Pinot in front of that showing some classic Sonoma Coast notes. This is certainly in that 'drink up' window. Not my favorite vintage for this bottling at any stage.

Slightly candied cherry and pomegranate, a little simple but pleasant and not showing too much age.
