Such a mesmerizing nose of dusty Tuscan terroir, tobacco, minerals, charcuterie, and currant. Layer after layer on the palate, including coal and smoke. The wine also shows a strong metallic ore element throughout. Among the finest Tuscan wines I have tasted! 96?
Wine and Cheese Pairing (Farpointe Cellar): The cab franc really comes through on the nose. Heavy on the barnyard and fresh green vegetables, it gave a good lift to the sweet berry fruit and spice. The hint of wood at the end was nice as well. The sweet berry and balsamic notes on the palate were great together, and the earth and spice flavors in the middle rounded everything out. It finish with a healthy dose of cedar.
