A beautiful sauterne. Each sip provides an explosion of apricot, fig, and honeysuckle on the palate that makes you keep coming back for more. The wine provides a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness, and has a long, supple finish. I wish I had another bottle. Enjoy!
Superbly balanced with restrained sugars, perfect acids and great length. M-bodied for a Sauternes. Elegant and etheral. Has all the hallmarks of greatness: honey suckle, honey, Botrytis, jasmine tea etc BUT is a little too perfect in that it's personality is just not there. Or HERE. But still: brouaghing great!
As long as I'm not a Diabetes patient, I'll definitely enjoy these amazing wines :-)
Half the btl still remains, first opened in May, and has rounded out a wee bit. Next sip from this cork-re-closed fridged btl will be in Sept or Oct. Hoping for some personality than :-)
So viscous and rich, with honey and apricot notes juxtaposed by beeswax and vanilla components. This wine might lack a bit of acid structure for my palette, but it more than makes up for it with its sheer density of flavours and length. Really great Sauternes, highly recommended.

(Chateau de Fargues Sauternes) A very polished style here, a fine honeyed style, bright and crystalline, with floral elements. The palate mirrors the nose exactly, backed up by a chalky substance. Sweet honeyed fruits, mango and tangerine and peach, with beautiful acidity, this is just stunning. Better than I thought en primeur.
(Chateau de Fargues Sauternes) This has a tighter nose than the Bastor, although there is an undercurrent of rich, attractive honey aromas. The palate is rich, creamy and peppery, broad and weighty, although with a minerally flourish and a fine acid backbone. Nice grip too. Not a very vigorous style, but rich and very good.
