  • Bright and sweet red fruits of Strawberry and cassis. Popped and poured and drinking great I think this wine would hold for another year or two.

  • Medium ruby color, no sign of age. Nose initially very high alcohol, strawberry jam and some eucalyptus. On the palate a bit confused, out of balance and sharp. Strawberry jam and alcohol dominate the aftertaste. This is not my style of wine but I had hopes for better. Don't think this will age....seems to be out of balance already. Definitely not worth the money in my view. Though it is better with food. Still not sure what to do with the other bottle I have that I intended to give to my daughter born in 2004 on her 21st birthday.

  • It started with a light nose, light body that at first I thought it is too simple. It is smooth but has light flavor and a light finish and lacks the complexity i was seeking in the first hour or two. After 2-3 hours, it gradually evolves into an elegant wine with more intense flavors. This wine has the most dramatic change after exposed to air, among our six wines.

  • Medium Red. Beautiful complex nose of creosote bush, wet desert dirt, strawberry, and light spices. Balanced acid, and a very long finish. What a great pinot with grilled ribeye. Stored at 55 since release.

  • Beautifully aged pinot noir reminiscent of a premier cru Pommard. Lovely balanced palate of cherry and black currant with faded roses ... not spicy ... the tannins have integrated beautifully... Had this wine next to a 2006 Le Cadeau Pinot from Oregon and a 2008 Walter Hansel North Slope ... The Martinelli was by far my favorite and I drank it with a duck confit hash with poached eggs at lunch...
I have enjoyed other Martinelli Pinot Noir from Seven Mules Vineyard and Lolita Ranch ... the Three Sisters vineyard is my favorite so far... wonderful expression of terroir ... very nice acidity for a Calif pinot noir... These wines are mant to age easily for 10 to 15 years ... Bravo!
