A more predictable tasting of this wine vs when I had it last in May 2023. It still has some meaty, savory notes and is still dominated by red plummy fruit. That said, it has a wonderful nose and long finish. Early maturity but it will age for many more years.

I’m perplexed. The nose on this wine is amazing. On nose alone, I give it 94 pts and love that it could be a great ringer in a blind tasting as it would confuse everyone as Sangiovese. Only Bordeaux purists would call it Right Bank if blinded. On the finish, it is semi-sweet but also savory and almost to the point that it turned my stomach. Why is it so meaty on the finish? Other reviewers say blue fruit, but to me this is red fruit all the way. Having recently had the ‘07 Pichon Baron, I much prefer it to the ‘07 Trotanoy. Maybe time in the cellar will benefit. That said… I’m still perplexed. Is it mature or is it disjointed and needs time? The nose and finish don’t agree with each other.

Wow, what a wine. Trotanoy is my favorite right Bank Bordeaux, ahead of Petrus. This 2007 is wonderful. Jumps from the glass with blue fruit and also some pin elements giving it freshness. Complex and aristocratic. They managed the 2007 vintage well, not diluted at all but of course lighter than the big years, which are still sleeping in my cellar.
