  This is in a lovely spot - fading but with just enough gentle dark fruit to lend contrast to the distinct green and earthy tones at the base. Some lovely black pepper notes on the finish add just a little more frisson than would usually be expected from this level and vintage. An absolute charmer.

  I opened my final bottle of the 2007 vintage in May 2018 and it was gorgeous. I wish I had opened less bottles in the years before. Still lovely fruit and secondary menthol/eucalyptus aromas followed by similar flavours accompanied by nicely integrated and softened tannins on the palate. Fully agree with the 3 stars and Coup de Coeur that Guide Hachette had awarded to this wine back in their 2011 Guide des Vins. And very unrepresentative for the 'difficult' vintage in my view. When tasting it in the previous few years I had always found it to show lots of potential but felt it was still in the process of settling down. It's only about 10 years after the vintage that it was finally ready to be drunk.
