Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark roast coffee, earth, dark chocolate, leather, venison, with dark fruit and floral undertones. Palate: Medium-full bodied, coffee, tobacco, and dark fruit attack, decent acid balances out the mid-palate, still showing youthfulness in back end with mouth puckering tannins. Finish: Medium length dominated by leather and tobacco with dark fruit in the background. My last of 3 bottles, this one did not show as well as the last consumed about a year ago - didn't get any of the sweet fruit to balance out the gaminess and tartness this time - though still enjoyable.
Unbelievably good on pop and pour and on second night even better. Starting to hit its stride and sure to last many years. Little more lush fruit and drying tannins on night 2. Forgot how much I love bordeaux.
Popped and poured, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, floral - violet, dark fruit - black berry, saddle leather, and tobacco. Palate: Medium bodied, sweet blue and black fruit attack, with a nice spice component appearing mid-palate, nice clean mouth-feel, and very well balanced. Finish: Medium-plus length sense of spicy dark fruit. Had this 2 years ago and it is in a much better spot right now - it's ready to drink.
Smokey, sweet, roasted red fruits on the nose, marred slightly by a little VA and oak; with air, the oak starts to become more prominent at this point; nice texture and grip; this is still young; strawberry and dark cherry and quite tannic right now; has some lift to it, which is promising; actually very nice, with some real upside here; if this develops some more complexity, it will be a great value.
Consumed over two days, note from day two. Nose: Expressive aromas of black cherry, anise, and a little funk. Palate: Nicely balanced, flavors of dark fruit with a tannic grip. Medium length finish dominated by tart red and black fruits.
