  • A rather nice Barbera, with decent fruit and reasonably smooth. One warning - goes horribly with Chinese Orange Chicken (which we did the first night - too bad I didn't have a nice Riesling!).

  • Still a very pleasant easy to drink wine, which this time reminded me of the old jug wines my father used to have around - I guess that is a characteristic of the barbera. This was not a bad thing to me - this bottle was more refined, but it had that combination of fruit and funk, with enough acidity to keep the sweetness at bay, to make it very enjoyable. fun to drink

  • Very ripe, but not necessarily in a way I like. Had a sweet edge, without the old world characteristics I like in Italian wines. But drinkable, and I can enjoy it casually.

  • One big surprise was the Palmina Barbera being the 6 out of 8 favorite at a tasting I held recently. I was trying to be sneaky putting a California Barbera in there with a slew of reputable Italian bottles and my guests picked it out immediately. I will admit that it has a good freshness and length that made it very attractive. It performed an interesting balanceing act of showing many modern Barbera flavors while maintaining the structure of a more traditional styled wine. I was very surprised by this bottle.

  • THis is a very pleasant wine and drinks very easily. Fruit forward, not a lot of acidity or tannins. Went well with homemade pizza. Will try again.
