Of course tasting a white Burgundy of this advanced age that is still very much alive is a rare treat. I’m not giving extra points for seniority, though, it really is very good. The light gold color is excellent, clear and bright. Tremendously complex aroma, too complicated to describe. Medium weight for a Grand Cru, good vigor, almost enough acidity - and zero signs of oxidation. Can any modern white Burgundy last even half this long?

Bouchard Pere et Fils with Gilles de Larouziere (NoMad Cupola): First bottle flawed but second one drank very nicely. Definitely more evolved than the 64 Montrachet tasted alongside. Caramel and orange zest with a pronounced oyster salinity.
