I'm a sucker for Truchot but I really don't see how this wine could be any better. A little darker than usual for Truchot, but still light colored. At its peak but should drink well for the next 20 years. Great nose, beautiful balance, very elegant but certainly no lightweight. Very complex, more red fruit than dark, some vanilla. Plenty of sweet fruit which is the hallmark of Truchot. Very long finish, it just went on and on. If this isn't, I'd like to taste a better wine.
Holiday dinner at the French Embassy, Washington D.C. (French Embassy): The second wine of three served blind so my notes reflect this. It is more structured than the preceding wine, which turned out to be a premier cru. Of course the cold temperature of service made the tannin show more than the fruit, but with time in glass, this got more refined, and - again - hardly what one would expect from an overripe 2003. Lovely wine. Maybe not as viscerally pleasing as the premier cru, but chalk that up to timing.

The color is shining so bright, so clear and very beautiful indeed then it must be good to drink at the moment. (Tested By n_magicbox)
And it's true !!!
This wine is very special, same level of Henri Jayer, austere but beautiful, classic, more charming than La Tache 2005 drinking side by side. Texture is lovely dense, good balance because it's fully awake.
Aftertaste is like a dream, not as long as La Tache 2005 but better type of imagination.

ps. Sorry to all DRC fan, LT 2005 is one of my dream wine. It's great, absolutely great indeed but I'm not a kind of those perfect things... I'm only human, living ordinary life with a woman beautiful by nature.
Please give my regards to Jacky Truchot, Cheers...

Marks duckhouse – MV Krug, Bonneau CDP, Centenaire, Truchot, Pousse d'Or & etc.: Upon release, the nose was like a Cali Pinot. Though still quite ripe, the expression is clearly Burgundy. Medium expressive nose displaying very ripe red fruit, framboise, cherry liqueur, caramel, sap, tree bark and earth. Good concentration, ripe red fruit driven palate impression and medium acidity. The finish clips and there is a hint of bitterness which I often find in the 03 red Burgundies. Still quite youthful and another decade will bring out more tertiary notes. It is also somewhat straightforward for a GC. Still quite enjoyable.

(Jacky Truchot Charmes-Chambertin) Wow . . . this was screaming right out of the bottle. What a sick wine! Nose of underbrush, bright cherry fruit, some complex spice notes and intense floral notes. One of those wines you stick your nose in and are wowed and know it's gonna be good. The palate was even better with wonderful creamy, old vine sappiness and a supple lacey texture. A swath of fruit and great complexity on the finish. I have no idea how this will last but this was a stunner. I have been on a great '03 Burg streak. With this and Clos des Epeneaux things are good.

Tasted blind. Much more in balance than I would have thought with ripeness firmly in check and Truchot rusticity providing some breadth to the wine.
