Sommelier Appreciation Dinner 2020 (The Brown Residence): En magnum. Medium expressive nose displaying slightly dry red fruit, sous bois, sautéed mushroom and mineral. Excellent concentration, packed concentrated red fruit, rich and dense, bright acidity, strong mineral, noticeable slightly coarse tannins and a medium to long sweet red fruit driven finish. It lacks the detail that I typically get in M. Gibourg wines.

Cool blue and black fruit on the nose, very pure. Quite a bit of wood spice shows up too. On the palate this is texturally light with silky tannins and delivers big blueberry and cherry fruit. Mostly primary and totally delicious, but with good terroir nuance, although not overly Echezeaux in character. Slight roast tomato to the palate. Absolutely classical, traditional, and very beautiful. 93-94.

Maturing red fruit with some clay, tar and iron notes — only moderately intense. Palate is mature and nicely soft and plush. No need to hold any longer.

Double decanted for 45 min. Very smooth and mature with great nose and mineral taste. Medium finishing

Lively floral, sweet aromatics with touch of spice. Palate is less delineated and placid than today's wines.
