Light to medium ruby color with a fair amount of brick. Rose water, cherries, baking spices, underbrush, some tar, licorice, and a slight dusty element on the soft and enticing nose. Medium body with solid tannins and very good acidity. Spicy, earthy fruit on the palate with very nice grip. Nice, lingering finish with spicy fruit and a nice earthy edge. In prime drinking window.

A decent CA based nebbiolo. Actually, the only CA nebbiolo I've ever had that was enjoyable. Had some tones of cherry, flowers, anise. Medium bodied. A little out of balance with some heat on the finish. I have no idea how this will age (and will never know, since it was my only bottle!), but I think it might be good for the next five years. Not one to hold onto for decades. For the price, very nice.

A nice glass of wine. It isn't the best Nebbiolo I have had, but it definitely ranks up there. It has a nice mix of rich flavors and light body. The slight pink color makes it very tempting with an expectation for floating grape flavors. But then you are pleasantly surprised with the wonderful body and plum highlights.

Plenty of structure left on day 3, but more open for business than the Italian Nebbiolos from last weekend. Nicely proportioned and good value. Good cellar defender. Started out better on the nose, now better on the palate.
