  Light, transparent ruby. Fruit forward nose, with confectured raspberry on the front. A dark character underneath the fruit notes from the oak, slightly spicy and with a raspberry juice undercurrent always there. Some roasting note. On the palate, it offers pure fruit but it feels slightly thin and monodimensial. Good levels of tannins and acidity suggesting the wine needs some ageing. I expected more but I'll probably give it a second try.

  Clear ruby colour. Bright fleshy fruit, a little new world touch without overripe. Very nice acidity. I'm not normally a big fan of acid, like in Barolos/Barbarescos that I find, but this refreshing and almost a little zesty (can a red wine be zesty?). Some tannins in the end but I like it that way, will last a few years but enjoyable with a couple hours of air now.

  Wine Watch Best of 2008 Tasting (Ft. Lauderdale, FL): Light to med body with reserved fruit and fairly high tannin and acidity. Needs some time to smooth out, but don't expect this to become anything special.
