(Potel Nicolas Meursault Vieilles Vignes) A bright nose that mixes forward and clean fruit with toasty brioche and faint nuts. Mouthwatering with quite some savoury extract on the mid-palate. Good acidity but today just a little un-knit - needs a little longer in bottle.

Pale straw, viscous, classic buttery organic nose, soft fruit and some spice, not quite together yet.

Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore, Potel Tasting. (Harbour Grill, Hilton Hotel, Singapore): Yellow gold colour. It opened with a whiff of smelly socks with an underlying layer of straw and grass. Seemed a little reductive. Citrus notes peeked out after some time, with buttery, vanilla tones. The palate was nice and fresh, but with a clear sense of high alcohol. Almost tottering towards a slight imbalance. Good - big, rather fat, rich and weighty for sure, but a little all over the place at the moment. Nicolas Potel says to wait 10 years for this to come around.
