What a pleasant surprise. Very smart - not a hair out of place. Elegant nose of dark berries, violets and a touch of pencil lead. Gorgeously silky palate, with just enough acidity to keep things interesting.
This is a hidden gem in the right bank with very good ageing potential. The 13 year old wine still got some fruity flavors, combined with layers of well developed tertiary flavours like wet leaves and oak. Decant in bottle for 2 hours and it opened up well without using a decanter.
By the glass at the BA lounge, LHR. Fresh bottle. The nose lifts this wine but the palate is not there yet. Nice nose, open, dark fruited, black currant, soft kiss of oak on the background. Good balance of fruit and oak, nice acidity. Solid wine albeit could use more depth on the palate. Drinks very nicely now too. 89

Opened and given air for 2 hours.....Good color in the glass....briar, dark fruit nose. Slight prune on entry with a good balance of fruit, wood and acidity. A decent BDX for the price about $50 if memory serves.

Medium garnet. Expressive nose of musty, earthy aromas. On the palate medium bodied, rustic with not a lot of fruit left but lots of oak and mushroom, I guess we are already late for this. A very modest wine from a below-par producer in St. Emilion. Why do they even bother to periodically revise the classification in St.Emilion if they keep producer like this in the Grand Cru bucket - give me a break!
