  • #20-99, 9% abv. From half-bottle. Fantastic, when it's on. Plenty of botrytis spice on the nose, with a fruit profile that is more Mosel green apple than typical in the Nahe, but with plenty of stone fruit notes as well. Minerally and taut, despite its generous sweetness and intensity. Great acidic cut to balance everything out too.

  • #20-99, 9% abv. From half-bottle. An outstanding rendition of a Dönnhoff, and again amongst the best regular Auslese I've had from the Brücke vineyard. Drinks almost like a BA-lite, with ripe (but not sickly sweet) orchard fruit on the nose coupled with some honeyed, botrytis-inflected aftertones. The palate is racy and slightly creamy, with the typical Dönnhoff delicacy. Great acidity and very typical Brücke acidity and raciness to counterbalance the heightened sweetness. Fantastic length and complexity.

  • At Manhatta NYC. Absolutely perfect bottle, shining with apricot notes on the nose, honeycomb in the mouth, perfect balance of moderate sweetness with a fruit tart dessert that provided the acid. Liquid gold going down. This is going to hold for 10+ years but at a very, very enjoyable stage today.

  • #20-99, 9% abv. From half-bottle. This is easily the best bottle of the regular Brücke Auslesen I've ever had, and also easily one of the best "ordinary" Auslesen I've ever had too. Simply incredible. A mild hint of petrol on the nose, followed by lime, lemon grass, and makrut lime leaf, but with a roundness and sweetness of fruit that whets the appetite for the wine to come. The concentration almost numbs the palate. There is so much extract and flavour packed into this wine it's almost impossible to pick apart, but there are flavours consistent with the nose, as well as notes of very clean botrytis and an intense minerality that Hermannshöhle doesn't tend to have. Sweetness that is perhaps more in line with modern incarnations of Auslese, the intense and ripe acidity renders this far too easy to drink quickly. The half-bottle gets finished far too quickly.
