Really disappointed. It smells like an outhouse ("barnyard" is far too polite, and not accurate at all). No one at dinner could drink it except for my aged father who has lost his sense of smell. The taste, if you get past the smell, wasn't bad, but as far as I can tell, this has one of the worst brett infestations I have tasted. And as far as I now, brett is not a single-bottle flaw, like a bad cork -- this is a bad barrel that the winery chose to bottle anyway. That's entirely on them, and so I'm rating this accordingly.

Sexy and supple - cool-headed with stamina. Still plenty of time ahead as well. Lively nose, but again, nothing about this wine is in your face. 50/5/13/16/8

#4 of 5 bottles that I have been following over the last 10 years. Last taste was in 2013. The primary fruit is mostly gone and the tertiary flavors of tobacco, earth, mushrooms, more dirt are front and center. Lacks a bit of acidity, but I think I need to give it some more time to open up. As of now, I would say it is still a joy to drink but the bit of low acidity and grip leads me to believe the best days are behind it. Although as I continue to drink this, it is still pretty delicious. Agree with 'rocknroller' that it reminds me of a classic Bordeaux.

What a surprisingly excellent wine. Forgot I had it in the cellar until CellarTracker said it was time to drink. Deep red, medium bodied, excellent fruit flavors, light tannins, smooth. One hour after opening it was ready to drink. It’s not a knockout, just an excellent easy to drink red wine. I see this wine has garnered quite a few excellent and outstanding ratings. I agree.

Decanted 1 hour. Drank over 2 hours. Very nice. Medium red opaque color, brown'ish edge. Mature notes, long finish.
