  • 13% ABV. Pale yellow with a clear rim. Decanted for 24 hours. Copious notes of sea spray, lemon peel and flowers dominate the aromatics. On the palate, minerals, lime, Granny Smith apples and a touch of dried honey are all seamlessly integrated into the wine’s texture. It finishes long and with a great cut, leaving a serious tactile impression. Bottles from this case have ranged from mediocre to sublime. Thankfully, this bottle is much closer to the latter than to the former. It is highly advisable to give this Chablis as much air as possible, as upon opening some bottles are quite reduced. Outstanding Chablis that is in its early drinking window. 93.

  • Popped and poured. Pale gold color. Nose fairly mute at first but after thirty minutes gave off scents of acacia, oyster shell, flint, some lychee. With swirling the palate revealed layers of melon, pineapple, apple core, and grapefruit held in place by a hard mineral spine. Copious acidity and medium-length finish of somewhat tropical fruit and flinty grip. Not typical for this appellation but I enjoyed it.

  • Medium dull yellow. Yellow pear and stone fruit rather than tropical as I've described it before in some bottles. Moderate volume, rich entry with some wood and vanillin, perhaps not completely dry or maybe I'm getting a sense of some botrytis. Much better acidity and minerality toward the finish than I've generally noticed in this wine. Overall, very successful and a pleasant surprise compared to what I've experienced recently from this Chablis vintage. Nobody will complain about this being too austere, though.

  • Light gold in color. Flavors of marzipan, crushed stone and pears characterize this viscous, rather atypical Chablis. With additional time, a faint hint of butterscotch emerges. The flavor combination and low acidity here makes the resulting package more akin to a Cote d'Or chardonnay, one nearing the tail end of its life. Drink up over the next year or two.
