  • Deep, dark garnet in color with no signs of aging. Fragrant, attractive and complex nose of well developed & mature, ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, cassis and plums with dark cocoa & mint overtones, classic cedar & aged tobacco notes, dried herbs, licorice, minerals, some spices and toasted oak in the background. Full to medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of balanced, well developed & mature, supple texture, seamless & elegant, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & cassis with dark cocoa, herbs, minerals, earthy, spices, mint and toasty oak in the background. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and airing but doubt there would be any further development from additional aging although it should hold at this plateau for a few more years.

  • Decant, then back in the bottle. Drank over the evening.
Solid color, no bricking. On the nose a focussed mature Napa Cab.
Evolved taste, with integrated tanins, core of cherry, bit of earthiness, hints of spice and mint. Very good.
Although not heavy, it could easily match the cassoulette we had at dinner.
    A solid wine.

  • Popped and drank with standing rib roast because last night this wine seemed close to the edge. This was my last bottle and was much better than the one last night. Classical mature Cab with integrated smooth tannins, wonderful nose and god fruit with a long finish.

  • Mature Napa cab. At the edge of aging. After some air, I detected the faintest bit of oxidation. Certainly not getting better. Drink up if you got them.

  • Popped cork 3 days after Coravin. No change. Dark red core, lighter at rim but no bricking. Cassis, cherry, moist earth, bit of VA which gives way over time to hints of mint and tobacco. Medium body, cassis and cherry follow the nose with hints of sweet aged cab, nice balance, hints of soft tannins appear at the tail end of a long finish suggesting this will hold for another 5 years or more. Excellent-outstanding.

(Etude Cabernet) We had made it two-thirds of the way through with the next wine, one that Justin noted had a .chemical/nail polish/varnish. thing happening, but in a good way. The nose was super chunky, meaty, smooth, chocolaty and full of cherry fruit. I found its fruit sexy with its caramel and chocolate in the nose. The palate was smooth and satiny with light grit. Our own Andy commented how there were .equal parts of fruit and stiffness,. and she went on to add that the wine was .long, but not as long as I.d love.. Hmmmmm. Someone else liked the .cotton candy. flavor
