I drank this bottle over 5 days. On day 1 its aroma was barnyard and almost no fruits evident. The palate was of faint red sour berries and stringency. Day 2- the aroma improved and blue fruits appeared- palate was more complex with vanilla + sour berries with tannin astingency. I drank this wine for next 3 days but by day 5- it was becoming porty- but still fresh. This wine being screw cap has at least another 10 years to go - as the tannin is still not well integrated. Its a mistake to drink shiraz from a good producer with screw cap under 20 years.

Loaded with black pepper, with some dark fruits emerging from under the torrent of spice. A hot year in a normally cool climate has led to a brash wine more in the style of Barossa than Canberra district. Few more years left for this, but not really much point.

Bouquet somewhat subdued giving an impression of being a bit closed and disappointing, however it opened up over about an hour and flavours came to the fore. Tannins relatively prominent but again softens. On the whole this is very drinkable, well balanced wine that still has a number of years left.

GMs - The Blending Sessions: Cherry, meat, violets and spice. High acidity on the palate, this has medium length and restrained fruit. I worry a little bit about the acidity poking out further with time, especially with the leanness of the fruit. Decent for now.
