Had no idea what to expect with eight years of age but....wow. Compared to the 2010s I've been drinking, this one trumps them right out of the gate and doesn't look back. Almost imposing with structure and weight, veers into the 1er burgundy category. Then continues to add depth and complexity with Lapierre signature spice and red fruit. Kind of felt like Marcel was still living and couldn't help comparing his hand to that of his son.
