At first I thought the cork might have been compromised but once I got some cheese on my palate, it cleared up. It started to even out after about an hour of decanting, but I still think this one was past its prime.

Floral perfume with spice, leather and vanilla notes. Fresh and vibrant acidity with a persistent robust finish that explodes with fresh tangy red fruit coffee and herbs. Just a hint of age so drink up. Its just past its peak.

Excellent wine, which aged very well, certainly not a heavy red and was a pleasure to drink.

Tasting of the Utrecht Wine Society (Utrecht, NL): Tasted blind. Has a certain warmth, dusty, firm tannins and ripe acidity, not completely harmonious, maybe slightly past its best?

Smooth, integrated, a bit more muted than the notes below.
