Beautiful ruby color. Bouquet primarily of Hudson Bay oyster and saturated wood. Volatile flavors of plum to pepper to sour nectarine. Enjoyable but odd.

Dark inky red. Blackberry bramble and a hint of leather on the nose. Dark cherries, blackberries, smoke, dry woody tannins, and a medium finish. Fruit forward and simple, but really good; almost a guilty pleasure.

Nice medium color. Nose was real funky. 100% barnyard funk. I don't mind that but the palate of this bottle was very green and awkward. No fruit, tastes like pine cones and grass. There were some tannins but nothing to suggest you should hold onto the bottle. Would not buy again.

(Prado Ayala Rioja) #1; COLOR-very dark; NOSE-this smells like straight CRAP; classic cow manure mixed with soil; Old World musty; TASTE-I'm shocked right now -- this is exceptional; this is a home run; great concentration; inky; very grapey; really interesting earth tones & veggies; blackberries & blueberries for days; almost Bordeaux like with it's fruit & earth tones; cherries; intense & viscous; completely attacks your palate; this is a MUST have wine; this is my style -- a beautiful balance of Old & New World; one of the best $10 wines I've ever had on WLTV; JR-88; GV-90+

I think this is really drinking well right now, open and poured, drank over 2 glasses over a 2 hr period, great stuff, esp for the price!

Rubber bands/bacon fat, red berries, rose petals on the nose. Palette - sweet berries, nice tannins. 2nd day - ripe red cherries. 89 pts.
