  • Similar to a bottle of six months ago. Bricking at the edges. On the nose, wet earth, mushroom and charred wood dominate a hint of raspberry. On the palate, cranberry and bing cherry, with a note of bittersweet chocolate. Fairly flat and uninteresting.

  • Bricking and brownish. The nose is musty with a little prune and some dusty rose. On the palate, fruit is faded and secondary notes are present. Light red fruit, with dusty tannin. Offers a nice spine of acidity that serves it well at the table. Definitely in decline, but aging gracefully. EDIT: This wine was substantially better with 3+ hours of air. Some nice fruit emerged, with notes of spice and flowers. An unexpected twist for a wine that seemed to have seen better days.
