A Ledbury lunch (The Ledbury, London): A bit more volatile on the nose than the 93, with more of a pronounced VA character that takes a good hour to lift. A little more garnet in colour than the 93, and also more savoury and a little spirity on the palate, the VA again, though this does right itself after an hour or so. Less plush and complete, though very good indeed, especially after it cleaned up in the glass. ****

Broader and more fragrant than the Jadot, this too showed little sign of age and still packs a tannic punch at the end
