  Nose with ripe dark berries and some red berries, liquorice, some stony minerality, some chocolate and hints of animal aromas and some other mature notes. Palate with ripe dark berries, good concentration, rather good acidity, medium tannins of somewhat velvety character, the alcohol reasonably in check (although it can be somewhat felt), and a long berry-dominated aftertaste. Drinks well now, seems to have improved somewhat since I tasted it three years ago. 90 p.

  Nose with blackberries, liquorice, graphite and some dust, but still a slightly sweet impression. Palate with blackberries and blackcurrants, rather good acidity, medium tannins, the alcohol reasonably in check and a rather long aftertaste.

  An interesting Montsant wine, a blend of 85 percent Garnatxa (more than 60 years old vines) and 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 10 months in new French Allier barriques. Decanted: two hours. Intense cherry red color with a violet edge and an impressive bouquet with loads of black currant and kirsch aromas, also some vanilla and herbal notes. On the palate: a complex, full-bodied wine with a nice balance and quite masculine tannins, which are slightly drying on the back end. Altogether a very well made wine with good aging potential.
  
  Interessante wijn uit Montsant, een blend van 85 percent Garnatxa (stokken van meer dan 60 jaar oud) en 15 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, met een rijping van 10 maanden op Franse Allier-barriques. Decanteertijd: twee uur. Intense kersrode kleur met een zweem van violet en een krachtig bouquet met overvloedige aroma’s van kirsch en zwarte bessen, ook wat kruidige toetsen en vanille. Smaak: een complexe en gecorseerde wijn, met een prima balans en nog vrij stevige, licht “uitdrogende” tannines. Een zeer geslaagde wijn met goed verouderingspotentieel.
