Popped and poured, cellar temperature. Took about a half-hour in the glass to start to show itself, but I didn't mind as the nose was captivating. Deep garnet color. Lovely, complex aromatic nose of plum, boysenberry, eucalyptus, mint, smokey mocha and a bit of barnyard funk that gradually moved towards pine forest floor. I would love to find a candle that smelled like this when lit. Silky round tannins. Well-integrated oak and alcohol at this point. Big black fruits on the palate. Tart black and red fruit notes helped offset the fading acidity. Allspice and pleasant bitter chocolate notes. Grippy finish that lingered and lingered.

This wine is ready to drink - probably not improving much more. Still pretty nice glass of wine. Decanted 45 min (should have been longer - I forgot). Medium garnet color, med+ aroma intensity with both fresh and dried black cherry, black plum and blackberry notes as well as some mint. Secondary notes of cedar and toast from oak. Lots of tertiary aromas - forest floor, leather and dried black fruit. On the palate, med + flavor intensity with similar flavors to the aromas on the nose Med/Med+ acid, high alcohol, med+ tannin - but super plush and well integrated. Medium+ finish of dark fruit and tertiary flavors. It’s a nice wine - a little surprised it’s still got this much freshness - but time to drink up

Better chilled -- basement temp of 64 was too high, and the decant helped as well. Not the most aromatic cab, but great robust flavor -- rich dark (cherry, plum) fruit, spice, bramble. Long finish, well balanced. Ageing gracefully for a 2006 -- no rush to drink this. Best sip was the last. Me - 92, Wife - 94

Excellent, as with a previous bottle. This may still be improving. Although 2006 California Cabernet in general seems to have taken a long time to digest its tannins, the end result is excellent.
