Surprisingly fresh when the drinking window "closed" in 2010 ish. Nice round tannins and dark berries. Malbec can be hard if its cheap but in this price level (30$+) I have tasted some okey Malbec and this is one of them.

(Monteviejo Petite Fleur) #3a; COLOR-dark; NOSE-this is some New World passion love; this is pretty; extreme teenage girl perfume; very candy; very happy; pure strawberry reduction jam; TASTE-a little too New World for me, but many will love; but has balance; this is really solid; extremely well made; great structure; it's so dry (pucker city); great complexity; a dry huge wine that is bringing some serious thunder; a little too fruity near the beginning, but other than that, this wine is on point; GV-90

No formal notes but drinking well at the moment and I do not see it getting much better with additional age.

(Jez's 3rd Annual Festive drinks) - served blind, big, dark fruits. Like a cali cab, just better value for its price point.
