Extremely typical Barolo and very lovely. High tannin that hardly dissipated after being open for a couple of hours. Floral nose. Difficult to see it is 14 yrs old. Opened at a blind tasting. Most people guessed Nebbiolo correctly.

rich basic barolo from Poderi Einaudi, at its apogee with complex nose and palate, evident oak that somehow likely prevents a full and clear expression of the nebbiolo cepage. But nontheless a big wine best paired with tajarin with white truffles and butter. Still strong tannins evident in the mouth.

In Vino Veritas Session 2 (MIT): Musky, leathery, baked fruit, balsamic, and - I rarely use this descriptor, but it really is appropriate here - pencil shavings. Still feels like a baby, but already stunning. Bold, tannic, peppery, warm & rich. Should improve further. 14%, $64.

Had more finesse than I typically expect in a barolo. Was a very solid bottle. I will try to find more from this producer.
