Starting to show its age. Mostly cedar wood aromas with some cherry and plum. Low acidity with flavors of plum and garrigue. Seems to be losing structure and complexity, though still pleasant. Drink now.
Aroma: Black cherry, rose petal, wood smoke, blackberry. Palate: Rich blueberry and wood spice with notes of tart plum and cranberry. Moderately grippy tannins. Good structure. Well within its drinking window with time to spare.
This ATP bottling is a mature Carignane. Its smooth, balanced, savory, with garrique and cranberry notes, but after all is said and done, a little thin. Unfortunately, at this point in its life it lacks complexity and could be more interesting with a little greater depth and longer finish. Time to drink up.
