Dark crimson colour. Chocolate immediately on the nose, followed by a good clip of eucalypt, blackcurrant/berry, black cherry, plums and vanilla. This all flows through to the palate. Some would say it's overripe and a bit jammy but I reckon it's just on the right side. The depth of fruit here is quite amazing, although the length could be just a bit better. Tannins still grippy but softening. It will live another decade easy. A really full throttled Barossan red of the best kind.
I made the mistake of buying this from a retailer's shelf where it had probably been sitting for many years. This bottle just doesn't have the depth that it should like other CT tasters have detailed. Disappointing. Will take it back.
