Lackluster, this was flat, offered little fruit and flavors were muted. Possibly past it's prime? This tastes like mass produced low quality wines found coming up from Plonkia. Nothing offensive, but it was simple, weak and watery.

Day 1: Equally dark in color as the 2005. Nose is much more fruit forward than the 2005, and much less earth and leather as well. This is 90% raspberry and 10% leather. On the palate, sweet raspberry fruit is front and center, and while the earth comes up, not nearly as forward as the 2005. More acidity than the 2005 also. A touch bitter on the finish, making me think this could benefit from another year or two of bottle age to come around. I would hold this for another year or two. Vacuum sealed for further tasting.
Day 3: Still a good dose of sweet fruit on the nose. Just a hint of leather now. Taste has fallen off, and lost a lot of that forward raspberry fruit it had a couple days ago. Finish is quite bitter now. Definitely not as enjoyable on day 3 as the 2005 was. Perhaps the extra year in bottle made the difference?

Columbia Gorge Tasting & 30 year old wines on my 30th birthday (Columbia Gorge and My House): Mild red fruit on the nose, and again on the palate. Uninteresting, showing some spice. Quite drinkable, but not much excitement.

Cathedral Ridge Winery Holiday Celebration (The Governor Hotel, Portland, OR): While I was very impressed with the 2005 vintage of this wine, this one is somewhat of a letdown. Spicy raspberry fruit and earth, reminding me of (surprise) a Bordeaux. More time required!
