Not goinig to improve, but great now. Great character, great body. With the red fruit notes, there was a pleasant and l'ecole-like herbal note throughout. Drink over next year or two.

3rd annual Christmas Party wine tasting: 1998 Cabernet Retrospective - Australia vs. USA "crush vat" match. Splash decanted for an hour and back into bottle. Dark ruby to light pink at the edges. This cuvee looks very thick in the glass, yet displays virtually no nose. Harsh swirling coaxes out dark ripe notes of prune, raisin and plum, with eucalyptus and herbs. Full bodied, this very neutral wine is very non-descript in the palate - there is a little black fruit, a little acidity and tart grape, not much more. Finished 4th of the 4 bottles. Drink NOW!

With some blue and green fruit. Throw down game of trash on December 5. A bit stern on the palate.

Classic cab nose. Dark fruits, cassis, oak, violets. Nice mouthfeel, potent nose.

No formal notes, but it was fantastic. Well aged but lively Cab that could last another 10 years in the cellar. From a magnum.
