I'm afraid I waited too long to open this bottle. It developed an oily smell and taste that was not pleasant. I've had this experience with overaged Viogniers as well. I know this wine tasted much better when it was initially released.

On the nose, the Trefethen delivered a whole bowl of peaches, some floral notes and an intriguing minerality, like it actually had some cleaned up stones sitting in the bottom of the bottle. In the mouth, another bowl of peaches and minerals, lemon, honey and just a touch of roasted marshmallow on the finish. This is a very nice, dry white wine, with tons of flavor and a nice long, lingering finish. As my main criteria for white wine has recently been "do I picture drinking it on the back deck on a hot day?" this one definitely ranks high on that list.

(Trefethen Family Vineyards Dry Riesling Estate) Enticing fragrances of jasmine, fresh citrus, and tangerine lead to a solid mouthfeel. The wine’s bright, lively minerality adds zest to the lemon-lime and white-peach flavors that thread through the crisp, lingering finish. Winery Spotlight: Trefethen Family Vineyards

Good floral and citrus. Good depth for a Riesling.

Bottle was fine. Fresh, vibrant acidity, citrus on nose and palate (grapefruit and lemon peel). Excellent.

Dry, waxy nose with lime and mineral flavors. Racy acidity with a decent finish. A house fav!
