[Magnum] Black as night in the glass. No nose to speak of other than Tabasco and soy sauce sneaking past the glycerine and new oak. Maybe super underripe black cherry. Can't get much off of the palate other than alcohol. Seems thin and dry. Huge grippy tannin with a metallic aftertaste. Not ready to drink, not by 10 - 15 years. Someone else opened this... Really tough at this stage, even for a Napa wine.
Deep blackish reddish color with rich dark fruity profile with a touch of phenol, and cook meat. The palate is smooth but restrain primarily due to its relative infancy. The flavor components includes black cherries, blueberry, and cassis all nicely integrate oak. Tight on the first day even after a four hour decant, but finally opened up after two days in the ref. Should have waited a at least 5 more years, would have been much better.
