I really enjoy the O'Shaughnessy wines. This wine was rich and balanced with lovely mountain fruit - mainly red. There was a "sharpness on the finish, but the more time the wine had in the glass, the more the sharpness dissipated. I have concluded that this wine still has years ahead of it. My second point is that the wine should have been decanted.

Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours.
Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of violets, boysenberries, plums, rust and earth. Flavors of boysenberries, raspberries and cherries. Tangy acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with a little air to open up.

Similar notes as tasting two years ago. Lots of deep, dark berry fruit in the nose and flavor. Blackberries, plums, black cherries, licorice, and coffee in the nose, blackberries, black cherries, chocolate, and licorice on the palate. Well balanced, long finish, and full bodied.

This remains one of my favorites and best values. It is at prime now and very smoot, long finish, dark berries and long finish.
