Initially exuberant with broad fruits and body. After some time, the body has thinned a bit. The palate is actually more balanced now, with cherry and cola, with hints of forest floor, but with plenty of sweetness. Just a touch shy in stucture, but a very enjoyable wine. A pretty style.
From 75cl, OK but not flawless, slightly spongey cork. Decanted 30 mins. This beautiful PN is powerfully, heavily "feminine" in the way that Chanel No. 5 is a powerfully, heavily "feminine" perfume. It morphed from closed-sweet-prim on opening to open red cherry fresh fruit to sultry soy sauce-spice-sweet heavy musky perfume in the glass. Even the strong balancing acidity waxed and waned over the hour we enjoyed and discussed this remarkable wine. Right now: a solid 90P(+?) The fruit, sweetness and sheer guts are so robust, however, that it may well have a marked upside given 4-6 years sideways.
Similar to my note from 18 months ago. This is peaking, refined and mature. With more time the complexity could improve, but at a much more subtle level. I'll try to hold on to a couple of bottles for another decade to see if I'm right.
