I remember this wine having deep fruits. There is however, no fruit left in this bottle which came together well after an hour in the decanter. It is deep, dark, and smoky. More of a food wine than a sipping wine, powerful, slightly refined, but lacking in complexity. After 24 hours in the decanter it has the classic over-the-hill port flavor, but still nice with a long finish.
Deep almost black color. 1 1/2 years since my last bottle and this is just getting better. Completely balanced and delicious. Just a little heat and pronounced blackberry and plum flavors. Still a little tannic but this is ready to go with air. A well made wine. Years ahead but ready now also.
