At Ch Lanessan from the private cellar. Basic table wine qulity as 1992 ( as admitted by the owners) was not the finest hour. Good everyday drinking value but no magic here.

Wine and Pizza in Tokyo (Da Pasquale, Ebisu, Tokyo): Strong anise note on nose. Bit of graphite and earth too. Black olive on the nose develops with time. The palate was slate with some greenness and astringency. Nice for a very reasonably priced Haut-Medoc. Probably has some life left, though I don't think it'll get better. This was our humble contribution to the tasting. I initially rated this 91 but probably ended up as an 89 after I spent some time with it; thus averaging to 90.
