Pretty mature now, medium gold color from a bottle with a ~1.5 cm fill, saturated cork and some signs of seepage (not uncommon due to overfill). This lacks the punch of Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich, but shows pretty peach and pineapple notes, with lower than expected acidity for the vintage. Lacks a bit of balance, but not bad.

(Mostly) Spätlese dinner at Proxi (Chicago, IL): #11-02, 8% abv. Probably my least favourite of the Prüm flight. This was initially a little dirty but did seem to clean itself up with some time. The nose showed the ripest of the flight, and the fruit a little more browned. Less of an acidic cut as well, this overall felt clumsy, especially next to the very elegant Himmelreich and the ethereal Sonnenuhrs.

Still incredibly primary with piercing acidity and bright fruits. Just the barest hint of development on the nose. The acidity actually pokes out a bit if I'm being a stickler. This gets high marks for its purity and freshness but ultimately it is not as deeply mineral as you may want - perhaps that's just Badstube speaking as opposed to say the Sonnenuhr.

Light golden color; nose is aromatic, petrol, white fruit, floral; palate is light bodied, medium sweetness, medium-plus acid, lemon-lime through midpalate; medium finish. This is a very nice riesling, seems at maturity with some secondary/tertiary complexity, and with excellent balance. 90

Shockingly good. Bright prickly acids, pure orchard fruits, and minerals. Superb balance and highly drinkable.
